Rules

  • No Senior Tee’s, except for those age 70 and above on the date of play.
  • No HDCP’s used.
  • You may roll the ball a scorecard distance, no closer to the hole anywhere on the course (except if in a hazard).
  • All of the high grass areas will be played as hazards whether they are marked as such or not.
  • Leaf rule – if a ball is deemed lost in the leaves by all participants in the group, the player may drop a ball as close to the spot all feel the ball should be and proceed without penalty.
  • The purpose of this Event is to:

    • Raise a little money for charity.

    • Have fun.

    • Help the Club by getting 40 golfers out for 2 days in October.

    • Promote relationships with other club members by playing with golfers you may not normally compete with.

 

Saturday

2 Man Scramble Format (9 Holes) Match Play

Straight forward scramble.  Win the match and receive 1 point, a tie after 9 results in both teams receiving a ½ point.

Chapman Alternate Shot Format (18 Holes) Match Play

Both teammates tee off on each hole, the teammates then “switch” and play their teammates’ ball. The best of the second shots is selected, and from there the two partners play alternate shot into the hole. Win the match and receive 1 point, a tie after 9 results in both teams receiving a ½ point.

Sunday

Modified Alternate Shot Format (9 Holes) Match Play

Both players tee-off on every hole, pick the best shot and alternate from there. Win the match and receive 1point, a tie after 9 results in both teams receiving a ½ point.

Singles Format (18 Holes) Match Play

Player vs Player – match play golf. Win the match and receive 1point, a tie after 18 results in both teams receiving a ½ point.

 

There are 50 Points available and it takes 25.5 pts to win the Cider Cup. In the event of a tie, both teams will pick two players to compete in a sudden death Alternate Shot Playoff.
